Year 9 students were given a taste of a life in the world of medicine by visiting presenters the Medical Mavericks. The Mavericks run a day of workshops giving students the chance to take pulses, use ultrasound and even practice keyhole surgery (not on real people!). The event was designed to show how science can be applied in the real world and to inspire students to consider a career in medicine and healthcare.
