Southend United Visit to Bromfords School

Southend United Visit to Bromfords School

It was with great pleasure and excitement that The Bromfords School and Sixth Form College invited Charlie Kelman in to talk to some of our students. Since leaving the School, Charlie has begun his life as a professional footballer with Southend United FC. His career has been mixed with successes and issues where he has scored vital goals for Southend, and had time out due to injury. He is rapidly becoming a vital part of Southends team and the future is looking very bright.

Charlie came in to speak to our students about his career so far, his high’s and low’s and also offered advice on how to make a success out of whatever course the students take in life. Students asked lots of questions about Charlie’s career so far and his life at Bromfords. Questions ranged from how did school life prepare Charlie for a career in football, to how life at Southend has been playing with a variety of players and for managers.

The key messages that Charlie gave were that hard work in everything that the students do is vital and that they must know what their ambitions are and to work towards them with focus and 100 percent effort.

It was a great pleasure to welcome Charlie back to The Bromfords School and to hear how well he is doing in his career. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being able to quiz a professional footballer, especially someone who had been in their position just a few short years ago. Hopefully this will not be the last time that Charlie visits us to update us on how his career is progressing.
