Coronavirus Arrangements Update

Dear Parent/Carer

I hope that you and your families are well and have been following the government guidance of staying at home and staying safe during this period of social distancing.

A reminder that the school remains ‘open’ Monday to Friday to provide supervision for the children of ‘key workers’ and for students supported with an Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP) or those who have a social worker.  We require parents/carers who fall into these categories to inform us via office@bromfords.essex.sch.uk by midday the previous day if they wish their child to attend the school which will be open from 9.00am to 2.00pm. We have had no requests from parents to provide any provision for Monday 6th April.

With the Easter holidays now here, students will see a significant decrease in work set by staff working from home. Students should use this time to complete anything outstanding but also to explore other activities they can do at home.  It is important that you encourage your child to continue following a manageable routine.

We will be working over the next fortnight to introduce a number of changes to further to support you and your children throughout the school closure period. We understand how worrying this time is for everyone and will continue to do everything we can to support our children and families. It is also vital that you support us in arrangements going forward and we will keep you updated as and when processes are reviewed and adapted to meet needs.  All information, including letters sent home, will continue to be posted on our website and via the school’s Twitter feed @bromfordsschool. During this period of closure, the school’s telephones are not currently manned. If you have an enquiry, please direct it via email to office@bromfords.essex.sch.uk.

Finally, OFQUAL today issued information regarding the awarding of grades for students in Year 11 and Year 13. We have written to parents and students separately but a link to that guidance can be found here:

Please continue to stay safe and follow NHS guidance on self-isolation and social distancing.
