Dear Parent/Carer,
Re: Exam Students
Further to my letter, on the 31st December, we are now receiving further guidance that I wish to share with you.
A number of students are scheduled to take formal external examinations shortly. The DfE have now issued a statement which I would like you to read and act upon.
Public Examinations
The Department for Education has stated all Public Examinations in January will run for students. Some students in Years 10 – 13 will be sitting Public Examinations in the next two weeks and we strongly advise students who are to get a PCR test. This should be done in the next two days to ensure the results are received and can be booked at www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test, using the community testing option. After taking the test students should self-isolate before their Public Examination as well.
As an additional measure, we will be checking temperatures before entering the Public Examination and any student who is running a fever will not be able to sit the examination. They will need to be collected from the school site.
If your child has had a positive test in the last 6 weeks, you should not take a test as it may give a ‘false positive’ because of a previous infection. Please can you inform us, if this is the case.
Thank you for your continued co-operation.
