The Bromfords School is proud to share the news that Thomas Ford and Libby Swaby both qualified to compete at the East Regional Long course swimming championship. This event has been held over several weekends in Norwich and Luton.
Libby competed in 6 events and made it into finals for 4 of them achieving many new PBS. This was her first Regional Long Course Championship and a great achievement to qualify for so many events let alone make the finals.
Thomas competed in 5 individual events and 1 team event. He made it in to 2 finals. He also won Silver with his 4x200m freestyle relay team and Silver in 800m freestyle. This has secured him a place at the Home Nations Nationals in August at Sheffield.
For the first time in history Basildon & Phoenix won the Warwick Thompson Memorial Trophy for finishing Top Club.
Both swimmers have an amazing commitment to their club training most mornings before school and again in the evenings and weekends.
