Welcome, the countdown has begun to you becoming our new Year 7’s and we are excited and really looking forward to getting to meet you all soon.

We can’t wait to start the process of getting to know you all and helping you on your learning journey over the next five, or hopefully seven, years. Although that seems like a long time right now, those years will fly by, and we want to make sure that you get the very best experience out of every day at Bromfords.

In the meantime, we would like to introduce you to our transition page, which has been designed entirely for you! Here you will find lots of things to prepare you for the next stage of your education.

Hi Year 6,

My name is Mrs Clout, and I am Director of Key Stage 3. I am really looking forward to meeting you all in July. I am confident that your transition into secondary school will run smoothly.

I know this may feel like an extremely nerve-wracking and anxious time for you all, but I can promise that I will do my best to ease these feelings and worries for you. Coming into secondary school will also be exciting; you will get a new sense of independence and you will learn to become responsible for your own learning.

Hello, Year 6, I have been hearing lots of good things about you as I have been in contact with your Primary Schools to find out as much information as I can so that I am able to help you get settled into Bromfords as quickly as possible. I am excited to be a part of your journey at Bromfords and I am confident that as a team, we will be the best year group in the school. I can’t wait to get to know you all and to spend this year working with you. If you ever need anything, I am going to be right there to help or point you in the right direction. Transition Work

We want to support you to be ready to learn with us and keep your brains buzzing over the summer! Click on the links below to download our Transition Work for English and maths (some of you may have already done this if you go to a Primary School in Wickford).

We recognise that not all households may have internet access or easy access to an appropriate device. If this is the case, please contact Mrs Causton on office@bromfords,essex.sch.uk to register for hard copy.

The work is designed to support transition and can be attempted when you feel it is right for your child, please ask your child to bring their work with them on their first day at Bromfords and give to their form tutor. Achievement points will be awarded.
