Year 6 Transition

Welcome, I’m Mr Dunn your new Headteacher here at Bromford’s. The countdown has begun to you becoming our new Year 7’s, and we are excited and really looking forward to getting to meet you all soon.

We can’t wait to start the process of getting to know you all and helping you on your journey over the next five, or hopefully seven, years.  Although that seems like a long time right now, those years will fly by, and we want to make sure that you get the very best experience out of every day at Bromfords.

In the meantime, we would like to introduce you to our transition page, which has been designed entirely for you!  Unfortunately, there are some things that can’t take place currently, we can’t have our normal transition or meet your parents. We have put together some information and videos to give you an opportunity to see some of the people that you’re going to meet when you start here, and get an understanding of what school looks like by taking a little virtual tour of the school.

You will find lots of things to challenge you, to inspire you and to entertain you.  We hope you enjoy it.

Take care, and we look forward to seeing you personally very soon.

Mr N. Dunn, Headteacher

Hi Year 6,

My name is Mrs Clout, and I am Head of Lower School. I am really looking forward to meeting you all, it’s such a shame that things can’t proceed as they usually would. Regardless of this, I am confident that your transition into secondary school will run smoothly.

I know this may feel like an extremely nerve-wracking and anxious time for you all, but I can promise that I will do my best to ease these feelings and worries for you. Coming into secondary school will also be exciting; you will get a new sense of independence and you will learn to become responsible for your own learning.

I look forward to meeting you soon.

Mrs Clout, Head of Lower School

Hello Year 6

I am Miss Jones, and I will be your Head of Year when you start here in September. I can imagine you are both excited and a little nervous to start secondary school. I have had the pleasure of meeting some of you already, as well as visiting or speaking with your Primary Schools to help us support you to settle into Bromfords as quickly as possible.

I am looking forward to meeting you all, getting to know you and working with you during your time here at Bromfords. You and I will work together to be a hardworking, friendly and successful year group! I will work with your Form Tutors to help you when you need anything, if you have any worries or when you need pointing in the right direction.

See you all soon,

Miss Jones, Head of Year 7
